The Axeman’s Jazz

This was a piece created whilst studying for my Masters in Graphic Communication. The aim was to create a title sequence to a book. I chose The Axeman’s Jazz because I felt it would be interesting to explore the themes and visual styles such as Crime, New Orleans, Voodoo and many more.

The design solution took the influence of voodoo dolls – synonymous with Louisiana – traditional printmaking styles and a Southern Gothic soundtrack (Wicked Ones by Dorothy) to create something that is impactful and exciting and would hopefully set the viewer up and get them excited for what they’re about to watch.
